Yoga Alliance (yogaalliance.org) is an international education and support organization for yoga based in the United States. They work in the public interest to ensure that there is a thorough understanding of the benefits of yoga, that the teachers of yoga value its history and traditions and that the public can be confident of the quality and consistency of instruction.Yoga Alliance registration allows you the opportunity to receive an internationally recognized accreditation, acknowledged by insurance companies overseas. Ashram Yoga are pleased to be aligned with Yoga Alliance as a part of our teacher training programmes.
This accreditation guarantees the high quality and standards of our training courses as the Yoga Alliance requires a strict regulation of international standard on course material, presentation and continuing education from its Registered Yoga Teaching Institutes.
We are pleased to be able to offer you highly skilled, professional yoga teachers. Yoga Alliance has two levels of certification: a 200-hour certificate (RYT-200) and a 300-hour certificate to make a total of 500 hours (RYT-500).
This is available upon fulfilling Teacher Training Level 1 or Level 1 Intensive.
This certification recognises a higher level of training and experience in a yoga teacher and is available after completion of the 200hr certification and upon fulfilling: Teacher Training Level 2 & 3 or Level 2 & 3 Intensive.
None of our courses include registration fees for Yoga Alliance. We refer all registration matters to Yoga Alliance since they are the registering body. Their fee structure may be found here.
This applies to both the 200 and 500 hour Yoga Alliance certification with the intention of keeping your skills and knowledge growing and expanding. It also deepens your own experience of yourself and yoga, which then flows onto your students. Within the Yoga Alliance standards a minimum of 45 teaching hours and 30 hours of continued learning each 3 years is required.
You can do this by attending regular classes, workshops, retreats, satsanga, study groups, etc. Workshops can be repeated. All these are part of continuing education. Another great option is to invite Shantimurti and Ashram Yoga teachers to run workshops in your area. We are more than happy to travel anywhere in New Zealand to conduct yoga seminars for you, your students and friends.
