Introduction to Yoga Class
This is a condensed 45-minute version of our Beginners Class. You’ll get a great introduction to basic yoga postures with a short pranayama (breathing) or meditation practice to round off the session. It’s a perfect place to start if you’ve never attended a yoga class before or have had little yoga experience. It’s also a good class for getting back into yoga if you have had some time away from your yoga practice. Every little bit works wonders on the work/life balance!
Ashtanga-Vinyasa Class
This is a 45-minute dynamic class based on the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. Like the Ashram Yoga open classes, the Ashtanga-style class is suitable for anyone who is physically fit or those with previous yoga experience.
Students are led through a series of sequential asanas (postures) while synchronizing the breath with movements. This alignment of breath and movement is referred to as vinyasa. The dynamic vinyasa flow interlinks the postures and can create the feeling of a moving meditation.
Classes begin with several sun salutations then progress into a variety of standing, sitting and inverted postures and finish with a short relaxation. It is a great class for challenging your body and mind, as well as a leaving you invigorated and rejuvenated in just 45 minutes!
