Meditation Teacher Training

About Meditation

Meditation is the practice of internalising your awareness to find peace, rest and renewed vitality. Its benefits are sung by the ancient yogis who consider it an essential part of yoga practice, yet the modern yoga scene is largely posture orientated and meditation is often overlooked.

More and more people are becoming interested in meditation as a modality for healing, stress relief and spiritual/personal development. The pressures of modern society make it essential for people to find relief through deep relaxation and self-inquiry and whilst the benefits of meditation are widely publicised, most people have no idea how to start.

Many assume that to meditate they need to “sit down and stop the mind”, which for an untrained student is almost impossible. At Ashram Yoga, we work with clear and specific techniques from beginner to advanced level that support a person’s journey within their own mind and help them improve their overall health and wellbeing. Teacher Training

We are now offering a four-day Meditation Teacher Training course. This course has been specifically designed for yoga teachers to further develop understanding of meditation itself, the various stages of meditation and the specific practices that can be used in a class situation.

You will learn how to appropriately and effectively practice as well as deliver these techniques; improving the quality of yoga for yourself and your students.

.

Part 1

Find out for yourself and be able to define for others what meditation actually is. Learn to identify the various stages within a meditation practice and then learn simple and effective techniques that can be taught to students to support their yoga practice as well as leading them towards a deeper understanding of themselves.

Part 1 introduces the tools of mantra (sound), yantra (symbols) and tantra (breath awareness) and how they relate to the mind and we will cover specific techniques that will allow you to appropriately apply these tools to a class situation. Find out more about how meditation affects both the psychology and physiology and how it can be used to increase awareness and enhance the quality of life.

.

Part 2

Part 2 gives yoga teachers access to more advanced energy-based practices that move into the deeper aspects of mind. Learn more about the kinds of experiences people may have when working with more advanced meditation techniques and how to assist them in working with and processing these experiences.

Meditation Teacher Training Part 2 introduces some lesser known techniques that pay specific attention to the chakras and the movement of subtle energies within the pranic body and mind, expanding consciousness and supporting a person’s inward journey.
